Construction of the Fuselage Centre Section.
The fuselage and finishing kit were ordered and shipped together, and did not arrive without incident. The main bulkhead part was damaged on arrival and had to be replaced by Vans using the shipping insurance. I will post more details of this under the News section. Did not hold us up, however, as we still had lots of preparation to do on all the other parts. After deburring the center section parts, and dimpling where required, the centre section bulkhead components were machine countersunk, then set up for match drilling. More than 100 holes had to be drilled, and our compressor could not keep up with the air drill, so we alternated between using the air drill, which was lighter and easier to keep vertical, and Ryobi cordless, heavier and more tiring to use, but did the job. The next step was to machine countersink and dimple all the main bulkhead parts, after which they were temporarily assembled to check for fit and to ensure that all the countersinking and dimpling had been done correctly and the right way round.
